Real Wedding- Jess & Alex

Deep hues of burgundy and red surrounded Jess + Alex in the form of an incredible, suspended balloon cloud, hanging from the rafters of Howards Hall at Howard Smith Wharves. Stretching from the ground to the ceiling and over the dance floor, the magical balloon structure was the statement feature of this dark romantic reception (to view the creation of this amazing structure, click here to watch our behind the scenes video).

Black geometric-framed pendants with pear-shaped bulbs were suspended amongst the balloons, complimenting the dark features that lay on the long banquet tables covered by floor-length dark navy linens. Charcoal grey plates featured amongst gold cutlery and grey Belgian linen napkins were draped over the table edge. Black hurricane lanterns lit by pillar candles contributed to the luxurious ambience of the space.

Minimal greenery is not often something we hear in today’s styling landscape as it goes against that overflowing fresh and luscious trend. The contemporary, modern style of floral design chosen for this wedding complimented the couple and the atmosphere of the space perfectly. Cascading down over the edge of the bar, luxurious florals of deep reds and burgundy were contrasted with pops of paler pink, creating a feeling of opulence and texture. Small clusters of the deep-toned florals rested on each table and were surrounded by black grapes and berries, enhancing that textured feel.

Balloons also featured as part of the photo booth backdrop, adorning an oversized, circular gold structure. Partnered with a deep red velvet sofa and bright neon sign spelling out the bride and groom’s newly shared name, the backdrop became a feature in itself.

This deep, romantic reception space was a dream come true for Jess and Alex. Congratulations to the happy couple!
