Real Wedding- Olivia & Mitch
Mitch and Olivia were married on a crisp Autumn’s afternoon in April, in a contemporary and decadent celebration with their loved ones at Lightspace.
This ultra-cool couple decided to break tradition and share an emotional first-look together, before taking their wedding photos and sharing the afternoon with their bridesmaids and groomsmen prior to the ceremony, overlooking the river and city skyline at Southbank.
The wedding party then travelled to Lightspace, where the couple were wed at dusk. The ceremony space featured a jaw-dropping statement installation featuring wild clusters of unstructured greenery and lavish pops of florals intertwined with textures of pampas grass, highlighted by five old-world twinkling chandeliers that lit up the room. Guests were surprised by an absolutely beautiful short film that was shared during the ceremony, telling the story of Mitch & Olivia’s love in their own words before they newlyweds said ‘I do’.
The evening proceeded to pre-drinks in the Lightspace bar while the White + White team secretly transformed the ceremony space into the reception setting.
Guests were then invited to see drapes pulled back to reveal a lively enchanted garden style reception. The reception styling was inspired by the grand statement installation and chandeliers, with opulent displays of greenery, florals and twinkles of gold carried throughout the room. Table centrepieces featured a mixture of high dramatic floral arrangements of deep hues, vibrant pops of orange, pink and deep burgundy with large feathers and low arrangements of wild colourful garden beds of different flora. Each table setting was styled with gold charger plates, personalised menus and bonbonnieres of mini prosecco bottles (coolest favours ever!) and a single pheasant feather.
The couple enjoyed their first dance before three courses of fine dining and speeches from family. The cake was then cut and guests took to the dance floor, grooving to a 6 piece band late into the evening.
Just when we thought Mitch and Olivia’s wedding could not get any more swoon-worthy, the festivities did not end on the big day! The couple organised a post-wedding photoshoot in Byron Bay, where they got some of the most incredible photos taken on the beach and hinterland, to contrast against the urban shots taken on their wedding day.
Congratulations to Mitch and Olivia!
