We sat down with Penny and Maria to talk about all thing’s venues, this dynamic duo owns and operates this iconic West End venue. The Joinery is a blank canvas, warehouse and is the perfect location to bring your dream wedding to life.
What inspired The Joinery?The motivation to start the joinery goes back to having our parents in the events industry and working with corporate catering. Whilst travelling to many private properties and other venues, clients kept asking why we didn’t have our own location and event space. After 5 years of searching for the perfect spot, we found the warehouse that is now The Joinery.
What do couples love about the space?
They love the uninterrupted space and high ceilings, a complete blank canvas where they can create their own vison and style for the event. We love to connect with the couples and really make the event as special and unique for them as it can possibly be.
How do you like to work with couples?
Most couples prefer email these days, we always try to respond quickly and get the couple in for a discussion about design and what we can do to bring their vision to reality. We focus on customising everything to suit the couple, right down to the menus, the food, the wine: no cookie cutter weddings here!
What are the catering options at The Joinery?
We are definitely not your traditional wedding reception, a menu of entrée, alternate drop main and cake for dessert is something we try to steer couples away from. We love creating dessert stations, your cake can be included in this, and it gives so much more variety. Anything a bit unusual is a yes, have your main course as a stand-up dish and bring in your favourite caterers.
Do you host wedding ceremonies?
Absolutely, we can host a nice intimate ceremony followed by a reception. It would be beautiful, and we are more than happy to accommodate.

We love seeing the space full of people and full of love. That is why we created the space, to help people connect and celebrate together.
